JUNE LAKE LOOP

JUNE LAKE LOOP

SILVERLAKE, CA

We have been in Japan for 3 months, 3 long hard Japanese months surrounded by buildings and millions of people and trains and stinky 7/11s. We tried to find as much nature as we possibly could but unfortunately it is very expensive to take the train out to those nature spots. So we knew once we landed at LAX we were going to spend every second we had seeing as much nature as possible. First thing we did was go straight to In-n-out, for those of you that live in California you understand the bond that I have with an In-n-out burger. Then we set out on our epic month long roadtrip. First stop, the Eastern Sierras.

The Eastern Sierras is a big place, is kinda like saying I live in Los Angeles, there are like a million parts to Los Angeles. Anyways, we stay on the June Lake Loop at the Silver Lake Resort. You can camp in a tent, pull an RV or rent a cabin. I have done all three for the past 24 years and you can't go wrong with any of them. You absolutely have to eat at the cafe for breakfast or lunch, and you HAVE to go eat dinner at the Mobil Station's Whoa Nellie Deli off of the 395 in Lee Vining. Seriously, they have the best chocolate cake in the world. Get the raspberry sauce, eat a piece there and take a piece home and then ship one to me in Japan.
